Sudan annually celebrates the birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him) on 12th of Rabi Al-Awwal, the third month of Islamic lunar calendar, while some other Muslims mark it on 17th of Rabi Al-Awwal. The celebrations last for more than a week.
