Chicago’s Libyan community revels in homeland’s freedom
[Smiling, exhilarated, almost giddy with excitement, Chicago Libyans who had grown up under a repressive and brutal police state embraced each other and reveled in their homeland’s newly-won freedoms.

“I would like to congratulate all the people of Libya, with your resistance and standing against this tyrant, We got our freedom, we got our life back,” said Sanad Abdalla, a Chicago resident who grew up in Libya.
